- Saute the mirepoix until the onions begin to go translucent. Add spices and rinsed beans until the garlic is aromatic. Then add broth and tomatoes and bring to a simmer. Add the cabbage. Cook until the cabbage tastes right, add the parsley briefly before removing from the heat.
